Telecommunications

Wide Area Networking

If your business is spread across multiple locations, we can help bring your company offices together with a private network. Enjoy all the regular advantages of a local network such as Video Conferencing, Telephony, Intranet, file sharing, or internal email servers across all of your locations both nationally and internationally.

Using your existing Internet infrastructure as a conduit, or using private circuits, we can develop secure private networks separated from the rest of the world.

This provides our customers with a transparent communication channel for any digital transmission, including Data and Voice. Current availability includes the New Zealand, Australia and USA. Other countries are available on a case-by-case basis.

IPv4 and IPv6 Transit

Our network provides a level of service that most organisations cannot get from either a large telecommunications company or a smaller service provider.

The ACSData network is a modern ethernet based IP transit platform, using high performance carrier diverse links between core locations nationwide, diverse peering and transit relationships. We can use this platform to combine anything from ADSL to 10 Gigabit Ethernet to give customers as much fault tolerance as they need. Our IPv6 transit network is built using the same high-speed circuits and routers as our IPv4 network. While other providers are building second class IPv6 networks on low speed test platforms, we are offering production services on our mainstream platform. We offer native IPv6 services nationwide, either standalone or dual stacked alongside our IPv4 services. We have been running IPv6 natively since 2004.

Voice over IP

Our phone system is a GNU/Linux based appliance that uses robust well-known open-source packages to provide a combined Voice over IP (VoIP) media gateway solution.

Unlike competing products, our phone system does not have arbitrary limits or licensing restrictions on the number of extensions, phones, voice mailboxes, hunt-groups and other per-user features that can be enabled.

Each phone system is custom built from locally-sourced commodity components so that spares and warranty replacement parts can be quickly provided.

The phones communicate with the phone system using the industry standard Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Because SIP is not a proprietary protocol you are not locked in to using one vendor or specific model of phone.

We also provide access to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using a SIP connection to our voice network. Your existing phone numbers will be transferred across and we have competitive toll-call rates to most major international destinations.

As SIP operates over an internet connection and does not require special hardware or a dedicated voice circuit, the physical location of the phone system and the number of lines can be scaled to meet your business requirements.

Branch offices can connect to a single phone system located at the head office or the phone system can be located at an ACS Data managed facility with the phones connecting via a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Moving to a new office or recovering from a disaster is made easier as the phone system can be moved, or the VPN reconnected, as soon as the internet connectivity has been established. To ensure end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) between the phone system and the phones we install new Ethernet switches that either replace any existing switches or operate alongside.

User desktops can connect to the network using the integrated Ethernet switch on the phone eliminating the need for extra wiring and wall ports.

We can provide access to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using a SIP trunk to our voice network.
